Specialist – Debt-to-Health & Innovative Finance
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Specialist – Innovative Finance & Strategic Partnerships to support the development and implementation of innovative financing solutions within an international organisation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new financing mechanisms, strategic partnerships and transaction opportunities designed to support long-term impact and sustainable development programmes.
The role will involve working with a broad range of public- and private-sector stakeholders, financial institutions, development partners and internal teams in a complex, multicultural environment.
Key responsibilities
Develop and support innovative financing solutions and partnership opportunities.
Identify and manage a pipeline of potential transactions and strategic initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with institutional, financial and private-sector partners.
Support the negotiation, structuring and implementation of complex agreements.
Coordinate due diligence, approvals, reporting and compliance activities.
Prepare strategic analyses, briefing materials, recommendations and presentations.
Monitor project progress, risks, deliverables and stakeholder commitments.
Contribute to the development of blended finance and alternative financing approaches.
Represent the organisation in meetings, conferences and external discussions.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective implementation of new financing solutions.
Requirements
Advanced university degree in finance, economics, business administration, international development or a related field.
Significant experience in innovative finance, development finance, blended finance or a related area.
Proven experience working with financial institutions, institutional partners or private-sector stakeholders.
Experience developing transactions, partnerships or strategic pipelines.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively in complex, multicultural and matrix environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Experience managing workplans, budgets, risks, reporting and stakeholder relationships.
Desirable experience
Experience in impact investing, private equity, venture capital, structured finance, insurance or fixed income.
Experience structuring transactions in developing or emerging markets.
Experience preparing due diligence reports, concept papers and strategic recommendations.
Strong stakeholder management and consensus-building skills.
Experience working in international organisations or large-scale development programmes.
Languages
Excellent English is essential.
French or another additional language would be an advantage.
