About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Programme Officer to provide maternity-cover support within an international organisation working on global health, gender equality and community engagement initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the close-out of an existing private-sector-funded catalytic fund while coordinating the operational preparations for its next phase.
The role involves working closely with community and civil society organisations, private-sector donors, delivery partners, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of key deliverables and the successful launch of the next programme phase.
Key responsibilities
Partner management and programme close-out
Support community partners in completing outstanding programmatic and financial deliverables.
Coordinate the review of final reports and the processing of final partner payments.
Maintain an overview of partner progress, outstanding actions, risks and deadlines.
Manage the extension of one partner agreement, including the revised scope, budget, timeline, approvals and deliverables.
Evidence, learning and knowledge management
Oversee the collection of evidence, results and lessons learned from the current programme phase.
Coordinate access to relevant documents, partners, donors and stakeholders.
Review key outputs and ensure that findings are clear, relevant and useful for the next phase.
Support the dissemination and use of findings among relevant stakeholders.
Preparation of the next programme phase
Lead the operational preparations for the next phase of the catalytic fund.
Manage RFP processes across different funding routes.
Coordinate technical evaluation panels.
Support due diligence, internal approvals and contracting for selected partners.
Steering committee and stakeholder coordination
Coordinate the programme Steering Committee, including meeting planning, agendas, briefing materials, decision papers and meeting records.
Facilitate decision-making and follow up on agreed actions.
Maintain effective communication with donors, community representatives, partners, consultants and internal teams.
Provide regular updates on progress, risks, budgets, partner performance and key decisions.
Reporting and handover
Maintain an integrated workplan covering programme close-out, partner activities, evidence and learning, and preparations for the next phase.
Escalate significant risks or delays and support their timely resolution.
Maintain clear and organised records of key documents, decisions and approvals.
Prepare a concise end-of-assignment handover covering progress, outstanding actions, deadlines, risks and recommended next steps.
Requirements
Education
University degree in public health, business administration, public administration, social sciences or a related field.
Equivalent professional training, study or work experience may also be considered.
Professional experience
Demonstrated experience working with international programme processes and systems, including RFPs, contracting, finance, payments and grant or catalytic investment mechanisms.
Strong project management experience, including the coordination of partners, budgets, timelines, risks and deliverables.
Experience working with community organisations on health, social impact or development programmes is an advantage.
