Helvetic Payroll is supporting a leading global consulting firm in the search for a Senior Manager – Data Architect to join its AI & Data practice in Switzerland.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of enterprise data transformation, helping major organisations modernise their data ecosystems and unlock the power of AI-driven decision-making.

Your Impact

As a Senior Data Architect, you will:

• Lead the design of enterprise-level data architectures, integrating complex system landscapes (MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud Data Warehouses).

• Architect and implement modern cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) using technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks.

• Define scalable, high-performance solutions covering data modelling, data integration, transformation pipelines, and DevOps practices.

• Design and oversee end-to-end data platform implementations, balancing performance, cost, scalability, and maintainability.

• Guide engineering teams (onshore and offshore) and ensure high coding standards and architectural best practices.

• Support clients in building AI-ready data foundations, including integration with GenAI platforms.

• Contribute to business development activities and strengthen market positioning.

• Mentor junior consultants and help grow internal expertise within AI & Data.

Your Profile

Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Architect in complex cloud-based ecosystems.

• Previous hands-on background as a Data Engineer (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks).

• Proven experience leading architecture decisions and influencing both business and IT stakeholders.

• Strong experience with:

  • Conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling

  • Dimensional modelling and Data Vault

  • Lakehouse / Medallion / event-driven architectures

• Experience integrating ERP, CRM, operational systems, APIs, and AI platforms.

• Ability to review engineering work (SQL, Python, Spark).

Nice to have:

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

• DAMA, TOGAF or similar certifications

• Experience with DBT, Informatica, or other ETL/ELT tools

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Strong client-facing presence and executive communication skills.

• Ability to translate complex architectural concepts into business impact.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior colleagues.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.

Languages

• Fluent English required

• German and/or French strongly preferred
